Tarta de Santiago is the iconic product of this Galician city, popular with pilgrims for over a thousand years.
Composed of a pastry case filled with almond paste, the most recognizable characteristic of the cake is the cross of St James in sugar on its surface. Rich, dense and moist, a delicious hand-made cake.

I use to buy this from the local Spanish deli in West London. I missed buying my usual Easter delicacy and this tart, which is actually more suited to the occassion is delicious. It is also gluten free and does not have palm oil as an ingredient, which is a problem nowadays.
I bought four and one of the recipients loved it so much, has gone on and ordered some for a coeliac disease sufferer who loves cake.
Keep it in stock as we will defintely be back for more.
My only gripe is the company is full on with the post purchase marketing, which I personally find off putting. I always remember to unsubscribe, but would prefer not to have to spend time doing this.
I bought this as a surprise gift for my husbands birthday and absolutely smashed it, he was blown away by how light and delicious this cake is compared with the brand we normally buy via a supplier based in Borough Market. We will be back.
Really enjoyed part of the cake and have frozen the rest. Lovely almond flavour and if you heat it up just a bit it comes out even better. Definitely on my list in future.
This cake was superb, perfect level of moisture and extremely tasty. Will definitely buy another one!
